Island Garden City of Samal

Kalinawan Resort: Peace and Adventure in One

Want to own a resort even just for a day? Kalinawan Resort might be what you are looking for. 23 km away from Davao City, you will discover one of the secret paradises in Samal island. Managed by a group of friends who aims to give the highest quality of service to their clients. They want their place to be known as the venue for peace (kalinaw in Bisaya) and adventure in one. Tying up with one of the outdoor specialists for your unforgettable experience, I may say, is one of their great moves to attract tourists considering the fact that it's quite far. They also want the visitors to feel safe and secure so they don’t allow walk-ins (as of this time). Better if you contact them ahead of time to avoid hassles.

For a minimal amount of Php8,500.00 (good for 10 pax) and Php550.00 per head in excess of, you will get to enjoy the entire place with the free use of kitchen utensils and gas stove (with LPG). If you are thinking for any corkage fee, well there is none, because here what you will pay for is the place itself. Clear beach water, relaxing ambiance, and a quiet place, perfect for a summer getaway or retreat. The management really wants their clients to make Kalinawan Resort be their home away from home. So if you are planning to escape the stressful city life, try considering this place.

How to get there:

NOTE:
If you are familiar with the Canibad resort, take that way and just go straight for like 1 km to reach Kalinawan Resort.
If Commuting: You can either choose to ride Island City Express bus or ride a jeepney.
* When taking the bus, in Davao City, go to Sta. Ana wharf near Magsaysay park (Php40.00 / head). Last stop would be at Central Warehouse in Peñaplata, Samal. From there, ride a habal-habal (motorcycle) to take you to Aundanao, Samal.
* When taking the jeepney, in Davao City, ride one with “Sasa” route heading north to take you to Sasa wharf, you can ask the jeepney driver. Hop on to a Davao-Samal Ferry Boat service (Php20.00/head). In Babak, Samal, ride a habal-habal (motorcycle) to finally take you to Aundanao, Samal.
NOTE: Babak Ferry Terminal to Kalinawan Resort is 20 km while Peñaplata to Kalinawan Resort is 10 km. Both ways will go through some uphill, downhill, and rough road areas. You can use this as your basis for making a deal with the habal-habal drivers.
